Dengar behind a Maschinengewehr 34. Man, the WWII and early postwar weaponry looked so right in the original trilogy. The production standards of cold-war firearms just wouldn’t have had enough future lo-fi janky to them. However, the rebels on Endor in Return of the Jedi did wield props assembled from M16/AR furniture. A similar looking armament used by the same faction saw use in the 1980 film, although it was cast from the German Sturmgewehr:
